"You don't have to be a Sherlock Holmes aficionado to enjoy The Strange Case of Eliza Doolittle although Doyle fans will get to see many references to events and characters from the Holmes canon updated into a sort of sequel to the original stories.  So, on many levels, the novel is a lot of fun. I enjoyed this book more than many  a title I've read of late. A perfect diversion from the weird world of 2020."

You know what these stories need?

A Preface

You see,  this sort of story often starts with a preface explaining just how the writer got his hot little hands on a heretofore unknown authentic manuscript by blah-blah. One thinks of The Seven Per Cent Solution or The Name of the Rose. There’s no such folderol (or fiddle-dee-dee)  in any of my books. They just drop you in the middle of the action and then it’s on with the show. But there IS a story behind how I, a Louisiana boy born and bred, came upon these three Sherlock Holmes tales, and I’m going to share it with just you now.
